A simple recipe for creamy and delicious dressed crab, perfect served on melba toasts or with crispbreads.
Ingredients
- 200g picked white crabmeat
- 50g brown crabmeat
- 2 tablespoons good quality mayonnaise (I use The Bay Tree Creamy Classic Mayo)
- Dill - a few sprigs
- 1/2 small cucumber finely sliced in rounds or ribbons (a mandolin makes this easiest)
- Lemon
- 2 heaped teaspoons salmon caviar
- Black pepper
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, a pinch of salt, and some cracked black pepper
- Arrange on a plate with cucumber, then squeeze over a little lemon juice
- Add the caviar and some sprigs of dill
Notes
Have fun with the presentation, the crab, cucumber and caviar can be arranged any way you like.
This dressed crab works well as a starter, and keeps well in the fridge for a few days.
